Hey everyone a busier week on the waterways this week with the systems now clearing up nicely as the rain stays away, a couple of windy days though making conditions difficult particularly down the Pumicestone Passage way with the southerlies blowing right up the system making for a very cold wind chill.

Monday we had Mike from north Brisbane and Tony from south Brisbane out for a full days charter on the Pumicestone Passage where we targeted the Caloundra mouth end first up chasing the run of winter Bream but windy conditions made it difficult so we pushed up the system into one of our deeper holes where Tony landed a small Flathead before pushing up further. We got up to the middle and upper reaches of the system where we got amongst a hot bite on the flathead with Tony ending up with 8 Flathead, a Moses Perch and a Pike and Mike ending up with 6 Flathead and a whopper 39cm Whiting which ran like a little freight train on the light gear.

Tuesday morning put us on the Maroochy River system with Neil Anderson and his son James from Nelson in NZ where James stole the show on the day nabbing 2 Bream and 5 Flathead with one going 44cm and another 50cm specimen with Neil getting some smaller Flathead.

Thursday put us down the Pumicestone Passsage with Alan and Tom from Victoria along with Ross from Beerwah on what was suppoused to be a full day, however the weather had different ideas with the wind howling up the passsage from the south we tried a few locations to escape it but with Alan after getting a 44cm Flathead and the boys getting a few small Trevally I pulled the pin on a half day as there was no point in prolonging the agony.

Friday morning we were back on the Pumicestone Passage again with Charlie and his son Nick from Cowra in NSW where again we had windy conditions which saw us push into Pelican Waters for some shelter seeing us get onto the Trevally with Charlie ending up with 5 Trevally and an Estuary Cod and Nick getting 5 Trevally, one of which was a 40cm fish which gave him the run around on the light tackle.

Friday afternoon we had Sid, Scott, James and Nick with all the from NSW, where we pushed up the middle reaches of Maroochy River in near perfect conditions later in the afternoon as the wind backed right off which saw the count end up with Sid getting a 45cm Flathead along with 2 smaller Flathead and a Bream, Nick also bagged another 45cm Flathead along with 3 smaller specimens, Scott got 3 Flathead and James ended up with 3 Flathead and a Bream.

Sunday morning we were back down the Pumicestone Passage way again with Adam and Drew from the Central Coast in NSW along with Ned from Brisbane in near perfect conditions we targeted the Caloundra mouth end again to get amongst the winter Bream where we got 15 overall with Adam getting 3 Bream, Drew 1 Bream and a Flathead and Ned getting 3 Bream with his largest being 31cm.

That’s about all for this week everyone, until next time Tight Lines and Screaming Reels to you all, Brian from Anglers Advantage….The Number One in Soft Plastics Fishing on the Sunshine Coast.
